The Printing Museum based in Lyon (France) will present from January 29 to June 27, 2010 an overview of the achievements of the most extraordinary of the graphic chain: the books of very small sizes.

Under the title Minuscule (Tiny), very small sizes books over the centuries, the museum will offer nearly four hundred books selected by the exhibition curator Miriam Bassett, binder and binder intervener in the Museum of Printing and Hélène – Sybille Beltran, in charge of exhibitions.

These books come from funds of the Museum of Printing, the Lyon Municipal Library, lenders individuals whose great collector Hubert Silvanus and several European bookbinders. In these historic and heritage structures will add nearly 100 contemporary works made by artists who participated in the competition of miniature books launched by the Museum during the exhibition.

vue1Many activities enrich the Museum’s exhibition of printing: guided tours, workshops binding and restoration under the direction of Myriam Basset; workshops in calligraphy and illumination with Mary Gorrindo, calligrapher and illuminator; drawing classes Poppy with Arnold, professor of graphic communication, conference Myriam Basset on miniature books ..

A catalog accompanies the exhibition.
